The 2010 BSA/AML Examination manual states: “Without a general understanding of the BSA, the board of directors cannot adequately provide BSA/AML oversight; approve BSA/AML policies, procedures, and processes; or provide sufficient BSA/AML resources.”
This program is designed to meet BSA training needs for the Board of Directors. The program is 35 minutes in length, and covers BSA from the perspective of members of the board. The intent of the video is to cover all relevant areas of BSA, but with a focus on those areas that are of the most concern to members of the Board.
This presentation focuses on BSA Risk Assessment and the resulting four pillars of BSA:
- Internal Controls;
- Training;
- BSA Officer Designation; and
- Audit.
Those participating learn:
- The Board’s responsibilities and required duties for all segments of BSA; and
- The Board’s risk—both personal and institutional—for non compliance with this safety and soundness concern.
Workshop Resources: A detailed manual accompanies this 35 minute webcast, and can be used as a reference guide as needed. The manual is self contained and can be used for future reference. We encourage members of the Board to review the Bank’s BSA policy in light of this presentation.
Expected Audience: The program is designed for members of the bank’s Board of Directors.
